0172 Mr. Frosty Afghan

Description

Snowmen are welcome all winter long. This afghan combines snowflakes and a snowman for the design. The back is lined to hide the floats from the fairisle design of the front panel.  The side panels are a contrast color with lots of snowflakes

Step-by-Step-Instructions

Yarn

Fingering yarn.   Normally knits at tensions 5-8. 

You will want to knit a little looser for this afghan so if 5 is what you normally knit this yarn – knit the afghan at tension 7.  When knitting 2 layers, you will have a nicer drape and softer feel if you loosen the tension at least 1 number and many times 2 numbers.

There are 3 colors in this afghan 

• Center Panel – back ground with contrast color 1
• Side Panels – with contrast 2 for the back ground and the main color of the center panel for the contrast in these panels

Amounts

• Main color – 12 ounces
• Contrast 1 – 12 ounces
• Contrast 2 – 16 ounces (sidepanels)

Options 

Choose between Book only/ Book + Design disk / Design disk only

Design Disks are available in three different formats

• Brother/Knitking 930 Disks: can be used on all machines KH 930 and newer.  Requires the FB100 disk drive.
• Brother/Knitking 940 Disks: can be used on all machines KH 940 and newer.  Requires the FB100 disk drive
• DesignaKnit CD: can be used along with DesignaKnit (.pat, .stp or both) format.  Requires the DesignaKnit software
