Description

Coastal designs are the themes of these afghans. You can almost smell the salt air as you snuggle under the afghans. Knit in sandy shades or let the tropics influence the color scheme.

Step-by-Step-Instructions

Yarn

Fingering yarn.   Normally knits at tensions 6-7. 

You will want to knit a little looser for this afghan so if 6 is what you normally knit this yarn – knit the afghan at tension 7 or 8.  When knitting 2 layers, you will have a nicer drape and softer feel if you loosen the tension at least 1 number and many times 2 numbers.

By the Sea Afghan

Amounts

• Main color – 20 ounces
• Contrast – 28 ounces

Harbor Lights Afghan

Amounts

• Main color – 26 ounces
• Contrast – 32 ounces
• Note – the designs in the wide panels can all be different colors.  you will need small amounts for them (3- 6 oz each which will mean you may need less of the main contrast color).
