0177 Northern Lights Afghan
$7.00 – $16.00
by Charlene Shafer
This afghan pattern is written for both Fairisle with a lining and Garter Carriage.
For standard electronic knitting machines
Description
Try this pattern using the garter carriage or knitting in fairisle. This gives a completely different look to the design. Instructions for both versions are included in the book. The afghan has a lining on the back to hide the floats of a fairisle design.
Step-by-Step-Instructions
Yarn
Fingering yarn. Normally knits at tensions 6-7.
You will want to knit a little looser for this afghan so if 6 is what you normally knit this yarn – knit the afghan at tension 7 or 8. When knitting 2 layers, you will have a nicer drape and softer feel if you loosen the tension at least 1 number and many times 2 numbers.
