Description

Thread Lace (also known as Punch Lace) is a little used technique that deserves a closer look. Just think, designs that knit up quick, afghans that require no lining and no wrapping the design to prevent separation of the yarns. Use a thick yarn and a very thin yarn of the same color.

Step-by-Step-Instructions

Yarn

Use a heavier yarn like Sport 2/7 and a thinner yarn like Petit 2/30, Kitty, Cristal or Estilo.

Choose yarns that when knitted together (which they will on the solid parts of the design) – they knit easily.

Tensions 9 – 10.2 depending on the yarn you choose.

Amounts

  • Heavier yarn – 2 cones ( you should have some left over)
  • Thinner yarn – 1 cone (it has a lot more yardage than the heavier yarns)
