0193 Thread Lace Valances
$10.00 – $25.00
by Charlene Shafer
Knitted on a standard electronic knitting machine
Description
Thread Lace (also known as Punch Lace) is such an easy and quick way to knit valances or curtains. They are light and airy. These require very little yarn and time. You can literally have them knitted, and at the window in the amount of time it would take you to go to the store and buy them

Step-by-Step-Instructions
Size
2 Repeats (the width of the bed) approx: 15″ x 19″
Yarn
The design shows best when a heavier yarn is teamed with a thinner yarn. For the thinner yarn you can even use embroidery thread (it comes on a small cone) or serger thread. My favorite yarns are:
- Sport tension 9 or 10; Diamante (tension 8 or 9) for the heavier yarns
- Petite 2/30, 2/24, Kitty or Estilo for thinner yarns
Amount
- About 7 ounces (includes the thinner yarn and crochet if desired along the bottom edge) for the longer designs and 2 repeats (over the 200 needles) wide
- About 3-4 ounces for thinner yarn
